What a Week!

What a great week it was at Linfield College. It was Mike's first full week as the camp director and though there were new challenges, it was an extremely rewarding week.

We had 140 students at camp this week and from Sunday night, most of them wanted to be at camp. They wanted to get the most out of the lectures as they possibly could retain. It was really exciting to see! The campus was great, the food was good cafeteria food, and the weather was HOT!

This week we had several students who were blown away by witnessing. It is so interesting how going out and sharing your faith with someone you just met will change your perspective and your heart for the lost. We went to downtown McMinnville on Wednesday afternoon and talked with people about their beliefs. Some students were challenged with tough questions while others were able to make people think. Still a couple had people trust Christ with their lives!

The students come back to camp changed on Wednesday as they now have faces to go along with the different worldviews that we have been talking about all week. After three days of intense lectures, they realize that they still don't have all of the answers and they now have a renewed passion to find those answers out. Overall, Wednesday was a great day that not only made the students think more critically, but we also made the city of McMinnville think about their beliefs.

Now, with only two weeks left of camp, we head to Seattle. Angela has two more weeks with her girls. She has been working through the idea of intentional discipleship these past six weeks and it has been extremely fruitful both for her girls and for her as well. Christ calls us to make disciples in all that we do, and our girl staff has been systematically looking at what that looks like on a practical level. For Mike, these next two weeks mean continuing to challenge our staff and look to become more excellent in the way we put on camp. Please continue to pray for us.
