To start off let me tell you about our expansion that we are making this summer. This summer is Worldview's fifteenth summer and we are so excited about the way God has blessed us over the last fifteen years and protected us. In sort of a coincidence but also an exciting time, we are expanding to three teams this summer. In the past we have had two teams that travel during the summer, one on the west coast, and one on the east coast. We will now have three teams. Our team will be traveling northeast, and we will have one team on the southeast tour and one on the west tour. As a result of this expansion, we are adding five new camps this summer. We are opening one in Idaho, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Virginia.
This is really exciting, but has also placed some extra burden on us as we attempt to hire an extra fifteen to twenty staff members to fill those positions this summer. We obviously do not want to drop the line of quality that we are seeking in our staff but we need significantly more than we have had to hire in the past. Please pray for that and for discernment for us as we sift through those applications.
Our team is also still looking for a male staff director for my leadership team. We hire two females every summer as staff directors who basically mentor our girls staff for the summer and we do the same with one male staff director. We are still seeking someone to fill this position. This has been somewhat frustrating to find someone for this position because again we want someone who will do a great job. Please pray that this position will be filled so we can prepare effectively for the summer.
So, now to the most recent events. Just last week we had a staff reunion/retreat up in Winter Park, Colorado. We had around 60 staff from as far back as 2004 attend. We spent the week just enjoying one another, as well as worship, some devotions, and some good old fashioned fun in the snow. We spent an afternoon tubing down some slopes. Well, they tubed down the slopes as Angela and I took care of Drew in our giant lodge we had rented. But it was a blast. It was freezing though. Literally the last two nights when we woke up in the morning it was around -30 degrees farenheit. It was nuts. But we had a blast. I have put in a few pictures here below from our time together.
