On the Road

We have finished with our first week of camp and we are currently in Des Moines, Iowa on our way to Minneapolis, Minnesota. This first week was such an amazing week. The students who attended in Missouri were so excited to be there. They were not content with merely being told something is true, they wanted to know why so that they could explain it to others. The questions that were asked to the faculty members were both deep and intentional. What a great way to start the summer!!! God continues to shape our staff as they rely less on their flesh and more upon God and His power. This is probably the hardest aspect of camp for our staff members, as many are used to relying upon their flesh as opposed to the Holy Spirit working through them to reach the students in the way God has intended.

We went witnessing on Wednesday on campus at Central Missouri State and it was both challenging and incredibly rewarding for them. On campus at the same time were a football camp and a music camp. Many of our students spoke with kids from the music camp, and most were willing to listen. They also experienced students who were so closed off to the Lord. It was incredibly sad because here are these kids, and they were kids, mere 13 years old some of them, and they were so closed off to God. However, in the hour and a half that the students went out and shared their faith, we saw nine people pass from death into life. God used them in ways that many had not even imagined as groups of our students were faithful. They were faithful!! They were terrified but were faithful to their Father in Heaven.

It was an amazing week. This week we will have a full camp at Northwestern University. Michael will also be taking two finals on Thursday as he flies back to Oregon State. Please keep us in your prayers. Specifically pray that God would weaken the flesh of the staff that they would turn to Him recognizing their sole source of strength is in Him. Also, with Michael taking finals, please pray that he would have time to study and that God would give him rest as this week will be quite draining for him. We want to thank you so much for your prayers and your support. Without you we could not reach these students that we are coming in contact with this summer.
