The Halfway Point

Wow! It is hard to believe that we are already at the half-way point of the summer. It has been a great first four weeks filled with learning, serving, and growing together in the Lord. We have four camps left including this week at Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. The biggest challenge right now is to continue to give these students everything that we have. Our team is tired after having done camp for five weeks, but through this we are depending less on ourselves and our strength and even more on God working through us. Our staff is realizing how much greater the impact is when it is God working through the students and not them.
With Michael, the male staff has been going through an in depth study on discipleship. The idea that we are called to leave a legacy for Christ and not for ourselves. The idea that we want to raise up others to be more like Christ and not more like ourselves. It has been a fruitful four weeks discussing what a disciple of Christ is, the purpose of discipleship, and identifying what it means to disciple, using examples such as Paul & Timothy and Jesus & His disciples. To go along with these roles, Michael has begun to teach one class for the third-year students. The class is on informal fallacies. He is also starting to develop lectures on the idea of influence and relativism. These, though, probably will not be ready until next summer.
Angela continues to challenge her girls to be more like the women that God has intended them to be and not to settle. God has continued to use her to challenge these young women in their beliefs and the way in which they articulate those beliefs to others. Along with that, Angela has been learning more of the logistics of camp as she has begun to learn about rooming assignments and some of the work that is done with the different facilities throughout the summer. This will not only help her in the office, but for next summer as well.
There are so many stories of lives changed and so much growth that has occurred. Thank you for being a part of this team. God has used this team to reach over 700 students thus far. Please continue to pray for strength, but not strength from our own flesh, but God's strength shining through. Please also let us know how we can pray for you.

For His Name and Fame,

Michael & Angela

Wow - I wish I would have had a Godly woman teaching me the things that Angela has been teaching the young women there.

I'm so glad you are doing well and are enjoying the journey that the Lord has put you on.

We love you!
