Well, after an intense week of training last week, camp finally arrived this afternoon. The students began to trickle onto campus around 1:30 and we did not look back. It was actually quite a challenging registration logistically as there was significant construction and a lack of parking, but it was amazing to see our staff step up and make it happen.
Our week of staff training was a great week. We think this could be our best staff team ever put together, which is so encouraging, not because it was something I did but because we can truly say this was God who put this team together for His glory and honor. We have staff from over the country including Pennsylvania, Washington, Florida, Texas, California, Michigan, and so on... They gelled extremely quickly and the most exciting thing is, they really GET camp. They understand what we are trying to do and how we want to do things. I think there is so much to look forward to.
It was also a challenging day because we were both in new roles at camp. Angela saw first hand the great amount of work that is required of her as the female staff director, especially on opening day. Michael experienced what it felt like to not be the direct hands of camp, but to see camp from a different perspective as a camp director. Tomorrow, Michael will teach his first of three lectures at camp this week on Moral Relativism.
Please continue to pray that God would use us in ways that we may not feel completely compitent in. It is such a privelage to be here and to be a part of what God is doing. It is our goal to update our blog THREE times a week, so look for our updates. We are so incredibly thankful for you.
Mike & Angela
