Thursday of Camp

Camp is almost over already! Just as the staff are adjusting to their roles as small group leaders, they are now getting ready to close up and place a bow on the first week of camp. It has been a good week with some speed bumps here and there. Many of which came because it was the first week of camp, but overall, we are so excited about our staff and the summer that is in store for us.

Yesterday we went out witnessing here on Baylor's campus and we had some great conversations, a few of which led to someone trusting Christ. Though we are not an evangelical camp, it is always so exciting when someone trusts Christ because the students realize/remember that knowledge isn't any good without the grace of Christ working through them. Instead of merely having ideas they are learning to combat and speak truth into, they now have faces that represent those views. I think they have seen that in those people whom they witnessed to yesterday.

Now as camp is coming to a close we have campfire tonight where the students will reflect and be able to share what God has taught them through this week. They will also have their final small group meeting and prepare for the morning. As a staff team, we will be busy tonight packing up the trailer and getting our personal things ready to go. We will attempt to leave campus by 2:30 pm tomorrow so that we can arrive in Amarillo, Texas by 9:30 pm and hopefully give the staff a few hours to relax on the way. It is amazing how much the staff looks forward to those long van rides where you see a physical representation of iron sharpening iron. The talk ranges from theology to sports to apologetics to family. You never know where it will go, but you can count on it being a fruitful discussion.

Thank you for your prayers and support. Please continue to pray for our safety in travel this weekend and in our final day of camp. Pray that our students would walk away able to retain much of what was taught and discussed here this week. We are so grateful for you and your prayers. May the Lord bless you this weekend.
